Abhishekam to the Lord Sri Kalahastheeswara, it is a prayer that involves bathing the Lord with the milk and Camphor, while chanting mantras for purification. Devotees can take part in this by paying Rs.1000. After Rudrabhishekam, the devotees are presented with Theertham and Prasadam.

Panchamrutha Abhishekam or Rudrabhishekam or Karpura Abhishekam are one and the same at Srikalahasti temple. Rudrabhishekam is performed at 6 am, 7 am, 10 am and 5 pm from Tuesday to Friday. 6 am, 7:00 am and 10 am on Sun, Sat and Mon. Ticket cost Rs.1000 for 2 persons.

- Direct buses available from Tirupati Bus station to Sri Kalahasti Temple
- Bus routes to Nellore, Naidupeta, Gudur goes via Sri Kalahasti. From Sri Kalahasti main entrance, it takes 10 mins by Share autos, private autos
- Trains available from Tirupati Railway station to Sri Kalahasti, it takes 35 mins by Train.

There is no TTD guest house. It would be nice to check-in any decent. As you are planning family I would not suggest other places. Pilgrims Amenities center is available for bathing but it is not advisable for family.

3. Perform pooja anytime between 10:30 am – 12 pm. If you plan start by 5 am, you can reach Sri Kalahasti by 9 am.
4. Please purchase Rs.750 ticket so that you can comfortable seating.
5. One has to fast till they complete this pooja. After pooja, you can have veg food.
6. Now start to chennai. After reaching home, next day morning take head bath.
