Guruvayur Temple Thalikettu Cost and Booking Procedure

Konark and Khajuraho are so unique in their artistic and architectural beauty that they always have a lot of visitors from inside the country and a lot of tourists from other countries. But Guruvayur is a pilgrimage site that is famous for its own glory and greatness. This is mostly due to the gods housed in the temple’s central shrine (Sanctum-Sanctorum) and the idol that is placed there. Mahavishnu is the main god in the Garbhagraha (central shrine). He is worshipped according to the pooja rituals set by Adi Sankaracharya, which were later put into the Tantrasamuchaya by Chennas Narayanan Namboodiri (born 1427). The Chennas Namboodiris are the Tantri who have always lived at Guruvayur temple. Most people, though, pray to the Lord as UNNIKRISHNA or BALAKRISHNA.

Only Couples are allowed to perform marriage rituals in the Dias.
Thalikettu Duration: 5 minutes. Photography and video shooting are allowed at extra charges.

Guruvayur Temple Thalikettu Booking

Advance booking is required upon submission of photo ID proofs and photocopies.
Only Hindu-arranged marriages are allowed.
Parents’ presence is required for the marriage.
Marriage registration is not performed at the Devaswom.
Pre-marriage rituals and post marriage rituals to be performed outside the temple.
Guruvayur Temple Darshan is not part of the marriage process.
