Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Shukra Aditya Sandhi Shanti in Srikalahasti is performed daily. This puja lasts for about 3 hours. Two priests will perform this ritual. Anyone can perform this ritual regardless of their age. Shukra Aditya Sandhi occurs at the end of Shukra Maha Dasha and the beginning of Ravi Maha Dasha. The last 45 days of the Shukra Maha Dasha are very precious. The last 6 months of Shukra Maha Dasha and the first half of Ravi Dasha are critical. Shukra Graha rules the houses of Taurus and Libra. Ravi Graha represents a father figure and rules the profession. Shukra Graha is associated with relationships, marriage, vehicles, happiness, and convenience. Shukra graha is a feminine planet. These features of Shukra and Aditya make this sandhi Shanti important. The sun’s enemies are Saturn, Venus, Rahu, and Ketu. Jupiter, Mars, and the Moon are friends. Mercury is a neutral body. Guru and Mars are neutral planets. The Sun is the Lord of the house for the Kritika, Uttara Phalguni, and Uttarashada nakshatras. Venus is the Lord of the house for the Nakshatras of Bharani, Purva Phalguni, and Purvashada. Shukra Mahadasha lasts for twenty years, and Ravi Mahadasha lasts for six years. Thus, these two Maha Dashas account for 21.666% of the entire Mahadsha era.
The Shukra Aditya Shanti homam puja starts at 7 a.m. At the end, we perform Avabrutham. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. We don’t perform group pujas or samuhika pujas. You can perform this puja on any day. This puja is performed in a yagashala located outside the temple. One should take a head bath before the puja. It is advisable to carry an extra set of clothes. It is advisable to perform this puja either on Sunday or Thursday. Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children. Newborn babies can participate in this puja.
Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
- Ladies: saree.
- We respectfully ask all devotees, regardless of age, to avoid wearing T-shirts and jeans.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
Shukra Aditya Sandhi Shanti in Srikalahasti
Shukra Aditya Sandhi Shanti is usually performed during the transition phase. When there is a change in the Mahadasa, then the transition period might cause disturbances. Your whole family can participate in this puja. We don’t perform this puja on Ekadasi and Dwadasi days. On a Purnima day, the puja starts at 10:30 a.m. The yagashala is located on South Mada Street at the Srikalahasti Temple. Experienced pandits perform this ritual. We don’t suggest fasting for the elderly and children.
