Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Guru Rahu Sandhi Shanti in Srikalahasti is performed daily. The puja lasts for about 3 hours. Two to three priests will perform this ritual. At the end of the ritual, we perform Avabrutha Snana. It is advisable to carry an extra set of clothes. We strictly advise devotees to wear traditional dress for this puja. One should take a head bath before the puja. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. The puja starts at 7 a.m. We supply all the puja articles required for the ritual. One should bring one kg of cow ghee for this puja. It is advisable to perform this puja either on Thursday or Sunday. This puja is performed in a yagashala located outside the main temple. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age.
We offer online puja services for those who are unable to attend the ritual. The puja will be livestreamed through the video call. A Brahmin can perform this ritual on your behalf. In such a scenario, you have to donate a dhoti and upper cloth to the Brahmin. This puja is mainly performed during the transition phase. A person may endure physical strain, mental stress, financial hardship, family conflicts, and much more during this stage. During this phase, one will experience delays and obstacles.
Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.

- We respectfully ask all devotees, regardless of age, to avoid wearing T-shirts and jeans.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
Guru Rahu Sandhi Shanti Homam in Srikalahasti
This Sandhi Shanti Homam is performed outside the Srikalahasti temple. One should perform this puja with utmost devotion and sincerity. Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children. We don’t perform this puja on Purnima, Ekadasi, and Dwadasi. An astrologer can let you know the need for this puja. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. We don’t suggest fasting for the elderly and children. Even newborn babies can participate in this puja. We perform only two pujas a day. First puja slot starts at 6 a.m. or 7 a.m., and the second puja slot starts at 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. Experienced pandits perform this ritual.
We perform Prokshana for those who are not interested in Avabrutham (Kalasabhishekam). An appropriate seating arrangement will be set up for the elderly. The yagashala is located on South Mada Street.
