Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Maha Lingarchana in Srikalahasti is performed in a yagashala outside the temple. The puja duration is 3 hours. Usually, two or three priests perform this rite. During this ritual, we will prepare 365 Mruthika Lingas (puttamannu, or anthill). Preparing Lingas itself will take an hour. This puja starts at 7 a.m. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. Mondays, Masa Sivaratri, Sivaratri festival days, and Mahasivaratri are auspicious for this puja. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. Karthika masam is highly preferred for this puja. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja.
We offer online puja services for those who are unable to attend. The puja will be livestreamed through the video call. These Shiva Lingas will be arranged in a Kailasa Yantra Prastaram. During this ritual, eleven avaranas will be recited. Mahanyasam and Abhishekam will be performed during this puja. One should perform this puja with utmost devotion and sincerity. These 365 Parthiva Lingas represent the 365 days of the year. Lord Shiva will be worshipped as Uma Pradhiveswara Swamy. Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children. During this ritual, Siva Shakti will be invoked.
Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
- Ladies: saree.
- We respectfully ask all devotees, regardless of age, to avoid wearing T-shirts and jeans.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
Maha Lingarchana in Srikalahasti
During Maha Lingarchana, Abhishekam will be performed with eleven different items. This puja will be performed on all days except Purnima and Ekadasi. Abhishekam will be performed with different juices and Panchamrita. An astrologer can let you know the auspicious day for this puja. This puja is performed to remove marriage-related dosha. On Purnima day, the puja starts after 10:30 a.m. This puja will not be performed on an Ekadasi day. Kindly note that this puja is performed outside the Srikalahasti temple. Even newborn babies can perform this puja. This puja can be performed even if there is no dosha. An advance intimation is required to procure Puttamanu. The complete ritual might take 3-4 hours, which includes preparation.
