Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Rahu Brihaspati Sandhi Shanti in Srikalahasti is performed daily. The puja lasts for about 3 hours. Two priests will perform this ritual. Rahu and Brihaspati mantras will be chanted during this ritual. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. Rahu-Brihaspati Sandhi occurs during the transition from Rahu Maha Dasha to Guru Maha Dasha. One should perform 45 days before the end of Rahu Maha Dasha. The first 6 months of Guru Dasa and the last 6 months of Rahu Maha Dasa are critical.
Jupiter’s signs are Sagittarius and Pisces. Guru is responsible for prosperity, wealth, and knowledge. Guru is a planet of neutrality. Rahu Graha is impulsive, unique, and related to the ancestors. Rahu is a female planet. Hence, this pooja should be performed along with a homam for education, mastery of basic competencies in the trade, and prosperity. Jupiter’s enemies are Buddha and Shukra. And Moon, Mars, and Sun are friends. The planet Saturn is neither auspicious nor evil. Rahu’s enemies are the Sun and the Moon. Saturn, Venus, and Jupiter are friends. Ketu and Mercury are naturally neutral. Hence, this Sandhi Shanti puja can reduce the negative effects on planets. Jupiter is the Lord of the nakshatras of Punarvasu, Vishakha, and Poorva Bhadrapada. Arudra, Swati, and Purva Shatabhisha nakshatras are the lord houses of Rahu. Rahu Maha Dasha is for eighteen years, and Guru Maha Dasha is for sixteen.
Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
- Ladies: saree.
- We respectfully ask all devotees, regardless of age, to avoid wearing T-shirts and jeans.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
Rahu Brihaspati Sandhi Shanti in Srikalahasti
Rahu Brihaspati Sandhi Shanti homam starts at 7 a.m. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. We don’t suggest fasting for the elderly and children. Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children. Newborn babies can participate in this puja. We don’t perform this puja on Ekadasi and Dwadasi days. On a Pournami day, the puja starts after 10:30 a.m. The yagashala is located outside the Srikalahasti Temple.
