Sri Sukta Homam in Srikalahasti: Cost, Timing, and Booking

The Sri Sukta Homam in Srikalahasti is performed in a yagashala outside the temple. The puja duration is 2-3 hours. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. Typically, two to three priests will be performing this ritual. There are fifteen mantras in the Sri Suktam. One should perform this puja with the prescribed ingredients, tantras, and agamas. The word “Sri” means “Goddess Lakshmi,” and “Suktam” means “well said.”

It is said that those who perform the Maha Lakshmi mantra japam 120,000 times for 12 consecutive days will attain all siddhis. The homam should be performed on the final day. It is also mentioned that those who perform this ritual with Tulasi leaves and Kapila cow ghee will be blessed with beneficial fortune. The Kapila cow will be black with brown spots on it. The Kashyapa-Gnana Kandam emphasizes the greatness of Sri Skutam. Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children. It is advisable to perform this puja on Fridays.

• Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.

Instructions to be followed

• Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
• If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
• One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
• Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.

Sri Sukta Homam Procedure in Srikalahasti

There are references to Sri Skutam in the Skanda, Vamana, Markandeya, and Brahmanda Puranas. It is also mentioned that bilwa leaves and pearls can be offered during the puja. This puja will be performed only for your family. We don’t perform group pujas or Samuhika pujas. One can receive several benefits by performing this ritual.
