Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Sarpa Shanti Homam in Srikalahasti is performed daily. The puja duration is 3 hours. Typically, two to three priests will be performing this ritual. This puja is performed outside the main temple. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. This puja is performed to remove Kala Sarpa Dosha. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. One should take a head bath before the puja. Kala Sarpa Dosha occurs when all planets are positioned between Rahu and Ketu. The puja starts at 7 a.m. We don’t perform this puja on Ekadasi and Purnima days.
Sarpa Shanti Homam is performed individually. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. We offer online puja services for those who are unable to attend. The puja will be livestreamed through the video call. It is advisable to perform this puja on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Auspicious days for this puja are Panchami, Shasti, Dasami, and Purnima. Ashlesha Nakshatra is preferred for this puja.
Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
- Ladies: saree.
- Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.
Instructions to be followed
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.

Sarpa Shanti Homam is performed outside the temple in a yagashala. We provide the required puja articles for this puja. Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children. This puja will be performed for newborn babies as well. Kala Sarpa Dosha might be passed from the previous birth, ancestors, or the current birth’s sins. When someone harms a serpent knowingly or unknowingly, then this dosha might occur. Any past doings in your family might affect your Kundali as well. While coming for the puja, please carry 1 kg of cow ghee. We speak Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and English. The puja will be performed in your native language.
