Ashta Naga Pooja in Srikalahasti: Cost, Timings, and Booking

Ashta Naga Pooja in Srikalahasti is performed outside the temple. The puja duration is three to four hours. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. Naga Pratishta will be performed to pacify the Ashta Naga Devathas, which are the eight serpent deities in Hindu mythology. This puja is performed in a Yagashala outside the temple. Typically, two to three pandits will be performing this puja. The word “Ashta Naga” means “eight serpents.” The Nava Naga Shanti Puja can be performed during the Naga Pratishta Puja.   • Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
  • If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
  • One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
  • Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.

Ashta Naga Pooja Procedure in Srikalahasti

We experienced pandits perform this puja. Ashta Naga Shanti homam is part of the Naga Pratishta ritual. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. Parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children. Those who are planning to perform this puja should inform us well in advance. We have to place the order for the Naga Shila (serpent idol). Ashta Naga and Nava Naga Shanti Homam will be performed during this ritual. It is advisable to bring an extra set of clothes, as Avabrutham will be performed at the end. We perform individual pujas at this Yagashala. We don’t perform Samuhika pujas.

When someone intentionally or inadvertently kills a snake, Sarpa Dosha results. Destroying serpent eggs, destroying an anthill, damaging the snake’s daily food path, or watching while snakes are mating. All these might result in Kala Sarpa Dosha. It’s also possible that Kala Sarpa Dosha was carried over from the prior birth. Naga Pratishta can be used to ward off both current and past karma.
