Naga Pratishta Pooja Procedure and benefits will be explained below. This puja is performed to remove Sarpa Dosha. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. One should perform this puja with utmost devotion and sincerity. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. The word “Naga Pratishta” means “serpent idol installation.” The puja duration is 3 hours. Typically, two to three pandits will be performing this ritual. One should take a head bath before and after the puja. It is advisable to carry an extra set of clothes, as Avabrutham will be performed in the end.

You can perform this puja on any day. This puja is advisable for those who killed a snake knowingly or unknowingly. If you have removed or destroyed an anthill, then this puja is advisable. It is also advisable for those who have destroyed snake eggs. An astrologer can let you know the necessity of Naga Pratishta after checking your horoscope. This puja can be performed even if the Dosha is not there in your horoscope.

Puja Dress Code

  • For gentlemen, the dress code includes a white dhoti and either a shirt or a kurta paired with pajamas.
  • Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
  • Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.

Puja Instructions To Devotees

  1. One should refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food for three days before the puja.
  2. A woman can perform this puja after the fifth day of her menstrual cycle.
  3. If there is a death in the family, you can perform this puja after six months.
  4. A Brahman can perform this puja on your behalf.

Naga Pratishta Pooja Procedure

A complete Naga Pratishta pooja procedure usually takes 4 to 5 hours for the puja. The puja cost will be around 45,000. For a simple Naga Pratishta puja, we charge Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 24,000. This puja will be performed outside the main temple in a Yagashala. It is advisable to perform Kamsya (bronze) danam (offering) and Vastra danam (dress) for Brahmins. A simple Naga Pratishta puja takes 2 hours and 30 minutes. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. It is advisable to perform this puja on an Ashlesha star day for the best results.
