Performing this pooja on Amavasya Days, During Solar and Lunar Eclipse times, Naga Panchami, Sunday and Tuesday are preferable days.
For good results, one should perform this Kaal Sarp Dosh Nivarana Pooja twice in a year. Once in Dakshinayanam period which is from 15th Jul to 15th Jan and One more time during Uttarayanam period i.e. from 15th Jan to 15th Jul.
Performing Rudrabhishekam after this pooja marks the pooja process complete.
Kaal Sarp Dosha Pooja Procedure
Pooja will not take more than 40 mins followed by Darshan which takes another 20 – 25 mins. After this pooja, one should offer food to poor in the streets. Pooja
Pooja samagri (materials) will be provided by the temple administration, no need to carry any pooja material from home. Ticket cost includes Pooja material as well.

- Females should perform this pooja 8 days before or after their menstruation cycle

Here is the step by step procedure
1. On reaching Kalahasti walk to Temple ticket counter
2. Purchase ticket Rs.750 where they will let you know the pooja place
3. Report at the Pooja place. Pooja will take 40 mins followed by Darshan which will take 30 mins.
4. After pooja, you need to carry Siver Naga idols and drop it in the Hundi after having Darshan inside the temple
5. One important thing that you need to fast till you complete this pooja.
6. After pooja you can have Veg food.
7. Now you are good to leave home.
8. Next day after taking head bath you can have food as you wish

Rahu Kethu Pooja / Sarpa dosha Puja
Rahu Ketu Sarpdosha Puja is performed in order to minimize the ill effects of this Dosha / yoga. Thousands of devotees perform this Pooja in Srikalahasti and gets the expected results.
The Pooja in Srikalahasti:
The Rahu ketu Pooja is completed in 30 to 40 minutes, and it is will be fine if performed during Rahu kalam.
Kaal sarpa puja
Unlike other pooja which consist of Homa, Hawana (fire ceremony), this Rahu Ketu Dosh Nivran Pooja is done by chanting mantras for two metal snake strips that represent Rahu and Kethu.
Mantra recitations and Puja is done by Sankalpa of the person’s Gotra and Janma Nakshatra.
No need to discard your cloths or having a bath after the pooja. You can go with the same cloths.
Puja Samagri: Two metal image of Rahu and Ketu, Laddu-Vada Prasadam, Flowers (from a different counter), Vermillion (sindoor) and Turmeric (haldi)Rahu-Ketu-Puja-Samgri
Good result can be acquired by performing Kaal Sarpa Dosha Nivarani pooja if performed twice in a year, once in the Dakshinayanam (July 15th to Jan 15th, night time for the Celestials) and once in Uttarayanam (Jan 15th to July 15th, day time for the Celestials).
If possible perform “Rudhra Abhishekam” after completing the Kaal Sarpa Dosha Nivarani Pooja.
