In this temple, Sri Raghu is seen here in human form with His consorts Sri Nagavalli and Sri Naga Kanni
Special pooja and Homam will be performed whenever there is a switch from Raghu Planetary position to next planetary position and this event occurs once in 18 months. During this event, Raghu will be taken out in a procession on Sesha Vahanam.

There is not Pooja at this temple. It is only Ksheerabhishekam to Raghu Idol and this abhishekam will be performed during Rahu Kalam time. It will not take more than 30 mins to complete this process.

There are three popular Shrines for Rahu Ketu Pooja. 1. Sri Kalahasti 2. Thirupampuram 3. Thirunageswaram.
Sri Kalahasti temple near to Tirupati is known for Rahu and Ketu Pooja. It costs Rs.300 or Rs.750
Thirupampuram Pooja is famous for Rahu Ketu Homam. As this Homam will take 4 hours and costs Rs.5000-Rs.6000
Thirunageswaram is only for Raghu Abhishekam. It will not cost more than Rs.150 here.
I would suggest you to perform pooja at Sri Kalahasti in your case so that it will cost more than Rs.1500.
Here is the step by step procedure

Yes, this Homam will be performed for 2 hours. Well before homam, you have to take bath in the temple tank. Yes, advance booking is required so that they can make the arrangements.
If not possible, plan to reach a day in advance and update the same at the temple so that they can arrange for the next day pooja.

rocedure to be followed for Rahu Ketu Pooja
1) A day before pooja, one should sleep on floor
2) Next day morning after taking bath, reach Temple and do Abhishekam with Milk to the Idols at Rudra Padam ( which is 100 ft from Pathala Ganapathi Temple) and do 3 Pradakshinam to the Idols.
3) After Abhishekam, please perform Rahu Ketu Kala Sarpa Dosha Pooja
4) After pooja, please donate 2 -3 meal packets to the poor.
5) Now you are good to leave home.
No need to change clothes. Not required to sleep on floor. You can do one thing, after arriving at Kalahathi, try to perfrom abhishekam to the Idol at Rudra padam with 1-2 liters of milk. Just sprinkle milk on the idols which is not reachable to you.
Why I’m suggesting Rudra Padam is , right from the beginning of this temple , Rahu Ketu pooja to be conducted here so these idols holds actual power.
As crowd is increasing so they moved Rahu Ketu pooja process inside Halls. So it is advisable to perform abhishekam and do 3 pradakshinam.
After this you are can purchase ticket from the counter and perform pooja. After pooja, try to donate 2 -3 meal packets to the poor. With this you will get complete benefit from the pooja.

I have issue related to my 2nd son’s marriage. On advise of my well wishers I visited to Thirunageswaran on 25-12-2016 and worshiped/prayed during Rahu Kalam (16.30hrs -1800hrs).
I request you to kindly let me know the duration/period to be taken to refresh my son’s mind and to settle the issue. There is a very good proposal. At first, he accepted, given his consent and both families started planning for necessary preparation. Suddenly, he refused and we are now worried a lot.

I had Naga dhosam in my horoscope .. I am suffered abortion for 2 times.. and recently gave birth to death child… my astrologer suggest that to perform milk abishekam and to drunk that abishekam milk. We are planning to do that Pooja on may 21, 2017 that is Sunday.. I saw that there are two Pooja timings on Sunday… i.e., 9.30 am to 11.30 am and 4.30 p.m to 6.30 pm… On which timing of Pooja gives best results on that Sunday???

I am Prashanth from Hyderabad, I have a query. I was suggested by my Astrologer to perform abhishekam pooja to god Raghu for 18 Tuesdays continuously on my son’s name ( 5 years old). And it is not practically possible for me to come physically with family every week, because both my wife and myself are working. Plz answer below queries,
