Thirumanancheri Temple Pooja for Marriage Procedure, Timings and Cost

Thirumanancheri Temple Pooja for Marriage Procedure, Timings and Cost

Lord Shiva was the only person Parvathi wanted to marry. Her prayers were heard after performing penance for years. The place where Parvathi performed penance was called “Thirumanancheri” after the marriage. The word “Thirumanan” in Tamil means “marriage.” A village is what “Cheri” means. In this case, Thirumanancheri means the place where weddings happen. Shiva married Parvathi, who is called “Kokilambal,” as “Kalyanasundareswarar.”. The word “kuyil” means the nightingale and the protector of beautiful birds. She is also known as Parvathasundari. The Kalyanasundareswarar temple is also known as the Udhavaganathar temple because of this.

Other legends say that Shiva and Parvathi fought while they were playing dice. During a heated argument, Shiva turned his wife into a cow. As expected, he started to feel bad about what he had done and asked Mahavishnu to help him take back Goddess Parvathi’s female form. Vishnu took on the form of a cowherd to protect his “sister.” After that, he broke the curse in a place called “Thiruvaduthurai.” She took a bath in the Kaveri River and then moved here to live as Bharatha Muni’s daughter. After that, the muni gave the girl to Lord Shiva. The Lord Shiva asked her to marry him again, this time at the place that is now called “Thirumanancheri.”

  • First, light the ghee lamps in front of the main deity.
  • After this point, only people who want to get married or will get married soon are allowed to do the poojas in groups. People who are with them should wait outside.
  • If you are a parent doing a pooja for your child, you should let the teacher know.

Thirumanancheri Temple Pooja Procedure for Marriage

It is said that married couples who have been split up for any reason can go to Thirumanancheri to get back together and ask for His blessings on their reunion. For these spouses, a special puja is held.

Once the first round of poojas is over, keep the garlands that were given to you in your pooja room safely. When you get married, go back to the temple to drop your garland into the temple pond.
