Sudarshana Homam in Tirumala should be performed in a mandapam. This homam cannot be performed in an open space. The puja duration is 3 to 4 hours. One should perform the procedure with utmost devotion. One should take a head bath before this puja. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. Usually, 2–3 pandits will be performing this puja. A minimum of 15 to 20 days’ notice is advisable, as mandapams are limited. One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol three days before the puja. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. This homam should be performed individually.

This homam will not be performed in Kalyana Vedika.

Instructions to be followed

  • Women can perform this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
  • If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after the 11th-month rituals.
  • One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 41 days after the puja.

  • Gents: dhoti (white) and shirt or kurta and pajama.
  • Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
  • Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees not wear clothing such as T-shirts, jeans, etc.
