Appalayagunta Temple History
This place is believed to have been the resting place for Lord Sri Venkateswara during his voyage to Tirumala.
Lord Venkateswara also bestowed blessings on Sri Siddeshwara and other sages here after his marriage with Sri Padmavathi Amma Varu.
The Abhishekam that takes place every Friday in this temple is very famous. The temple also has the shrines of Sri Andal, Goddess Padmavathi and Anjaneya Swamy Temple.
Lord Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy, the presiding deity of the temple is in Abhaya Hastha Pose(Blessing Hand).
How to reach Appalayagunta from Tirupati Central Bus Station?
- Distance from Tirupati Central Bus Station: 15 km
- A.P.S.R.T.C direct Bus is available To Appalayagunta but with less frequency.
- Other means of transportation, Many Share Autos, Private Jeeps run from Sri Padmavathi Amma Varu Temple Tiruchanoor To Appalayagunta. And from Tiruchanoor Temple it is hardly 10-12 Km.
- Private Buses are also available from R.T.C Bus station.
- Bus Route -> Tirupati Central Bus Station -> Tiruchanoor Bypass -> Padi Peta -> Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple Appalayagunta.
How to reach Appalayagunta from Tirupati Railway Station?
- Distance from Tirupati Railway Station: 16 Km
- There is no direction available from Railway Station so it would be good to reach Tirupati Central Bus Station either by Share Auto or Auto or by Private Bus ( Private Bus Station is right opposite to Tirupati Central Bus Station, near Govindaraja Swamy Pushkarini).

Kalyanotsavam will be performed daily at the temple. Seva will be performed from 10 am – 12 pm.
