This valley national park stretches over an area of 159.89 Sq.Km. This area was declared as the National Park in 1986. It is inhabited by Red Panda, Tiger, Leopard, Spotted Deer, Wildboar, Sambar, Himalayan Thar, Sloth bear etc.
Birds such as Rufous-throated Partridge, crimson horned pheasant, scarlet-breasted woodpecker, Darjeeling Woodpecker, Bay Woodpecker, whistling hawk-cuckoo, peacock etc are majorly seen in this park.
Own Vehicles are allowed until Zero points which is 13 Km inside the forest.
Safari is not available in this Park.
Opening Dates: 16Sep-14Jun.
Closing Dates: 15Jun-15Sep. This valley park remains closed during monsoon season for 3 months.
Best Time to Visit: Oct-Apr 1st week.
Tourists inflow will be high during Dec, Jan months.
Nature Interpretation Center at Lava
Opening Timings: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm -4:00 pm.
Remains closed on Thursdays. Timings might change on rainy days.
