Abhishekam is a ritual which is part of daily prayers, Abhishekam (Bathing the Lingam) are performed to the Lord Sri Kalahastheeswara. Abhishekam is done with Panchakarpura (Camphor mixed with water, honey, milk, camphor and Panchamrutha) along with chanting of the mantras, which signifies the act cleansing and singing melodious hymns of praises to the Lord.
However, the main Lingam is not touched by human hands and all the prayers and Panchakarpura Abhisheka are offered to the Bronze Idol called Utsavamurthi. Pilgrims who visit the temple can participate in the Abhishekam that are performed by the priest belonging to Bhardwaj Gotra of Apsthmaba Sutra who take up the approved Diksha, a religious initiation, in the temple. During Abhishekam, flowers, sandal paste and Sacred threads are offered to the Lord.

Rudrabhishekam
Another form of Abhishekam to the Lord Sri Kalahastheeswara, it is a prayer that involves bathing the Lord with the milk and Camphor, while chanting mantras for purification. Devotees can take part in this by paying Rs.600. After Rudrabhishekam, the devotees are presented with Theertham and Prasadam.

Online booking is not available for Rudrabhishekam tickets. Whoever purchase ticket will participate in the abhishekam. And Tickets are issued all the time, even if it is crowded you can perform Abhishekam.
