Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Navagraha Shanti Pooja in Gokarna is performed daily. The puja lasts for 3-4 hours. Three priests will perform the ritual. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their dosha. This puja is performed to appease the Navagrahas. The planetary positions and the bad karmas of a person’s previous birth affect his finances and general well-being. This puja minimises the negative effects of the bad planetary positions. You can determine whether this puja is necessary by consulting an astrologer. A single person or a couple can perform this puja. One should take a head bath before and after the puja. Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. Even newborn babies can perform this puja. This puja enhances the positive planetary positions while reducing the negative effects of the negative ones.
We offer online puja services for those who are unable to attend. The puja will be livestreamed through the video call. One should join the video call to perform the sankalpam. During this ritual, we recite mantras for each planet. After the Japa Sankhya is completed, the homam will be performed. We also perform Paripoorna Navagraha Shanti Homam, which could take five hours to complete with forty priests. The puja starts at 7 a.m. Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their children.
Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
- Ladies: saree.
- Regardless of age, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from dressing in jeans and T-shirts.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
Navagraha Shanti Pooja in Gokarna
Navagraha Shanti Pooja is performed in a yagashala located outside the Gokarna Mahabaleshwar Temple. We also perform individual Graha Japam followed by the homam. The puja duration depends on the Graha Japa Sankhya. We don’t suggest fasting for the elderly and children. An astrologer can let you know the auspicious day for this ritual. In Gokarna, we speak Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, and English. The puja will be performed in your native language. All mantras will be recited in Sanskrit.
