Dharmasthala Sri Manjunatha
Shri Vadiraja Swami of Udupi visited Dharmasthala at the request of Shri Devaraja Heggade in the 16th century. Although the Swamiji arrived here, he declined the food offering because the Vedic steps had not yet sanctified the idol of Lord Manjunatha. Shri Heggade then asked the Swamiji to personally reconsecrate the Shiva linga. Twenty-one generations of the Heggade family have developed and strengthened the roots of kindness and respect for faith set by the Pergades 800 years ago.
Marriage Hall Booking in Dharmasthala
- The bride should be 18 years and above.
- The groom should be 21 years and above.
- The bride’s parents and the groom’s parents should be available for the marriage.
- The bride and groom’s age proof documents are required.
- While offering Kanike in the temple, the bride should wear a saree.
- Only Hindu-arranged marriages are allowed at Dharmasthala.
- Parents can attend inter-caste arranged marriages.
- Dharmasthala does not perform love marriages without parental approval.
- Interreligious marriages are not allowed at Dharmasthala.
- The cost of the hall varies from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 35,000, and it has a capacity of 100 to 300 members.
- After the marriage, you will receive a receipt that you can use to register the marriage at a registration office in your area.
- The Dharmasthala Kshetra rules and regulations govern all marriages.
- All other arrangements, including catering, decoration, and purohit, will incur additional charges.
- Second marriages are not allowed at Dharmasthala.
