Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary Timings, Entry fees, Online Booking
This Sanctuary stretches over an area of 158 sq. Km. This Sanctuary is located between Teesta and Mahananda rivers. This park is inhabited by Elephants, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Sloth bear, Jackals, Wild boars, Indian Gaur etc. Commonly seen birds are great pied hornbill, Asian Barred Owl, Indian Grey Hornbill, Pheasants etc.

Altitude: 500 ft – 4300 ft
Safari: Own vehicle allowed to drive thru the forest. Jeep or SUV is advisable for the Safari.
Safari duration: 2 hours. A Guide is must for the Safari who will be assigned at the entry point.

Safari Entry point: Sukna which is 8 km from Siliguri. It takes 2 hours 30 mins drive from Darjeeling town.
The tourists flow will be high during Dec, Jan, Apr and May months. Forests vehicles are not available for the safari. No limit in allowing the vehicles into the sanctuary. Early hours is advisable for good animal sightings.
