Anyone can perform this puja regardless of their age. It is advisable to take a head bath before the puja. One should perform this puja with utmost devotion and sincerity. Garland puja is performed during the temple’s opening hours. It is advisable to wear traditional dress while performing this puja. Even parents can perform this puja on behalf of their son or daughter. The temple remains open on all days. Will be closed on Grahan days. Rush will be high during the weekends. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. There is no online booking for this puja tickets.
Dress Code: Any decent outfit
The waiting time is 10 to 15 minutes during weekdays and 20 minutes during weekends. One should keep the garland with them, and it should be returned after getting married to the temple.

By Air
- The nearest airport is at Tiruchirapalli, which is 113 km away.
By Train
- Kumbakonam is well-connected with all parts of Tamil Nadu. The temple is 29 km away from the railway station.
By Bus
- From Chennai and Pondicherry, the bus goes via Cuddalore -> Chidambaram -> Mayiladuthurai -> Kuttalam -> Thirumanancheri.
- Direct buses to Thirumanancheri are available from Kuttalam and Mayiladuthurai.
- Mini buses are available from Kuttalam to Thirumanancheri.
Tickets for the same-day Pooja can be purchased upon arrival at the counter. Online booking is not available for these poojas.
