The cost, timings, and benefits of the Thirukadaiyur Ayush Homam are as follows. This homam is performed daily. It is advisable to perform this puja on your birth star day for the best results. It is advisable to perform this puja once a year. It is advisable to perform this homam for newborn babies and elderly people. This puja is advisable for sick patients. Anyone can perform this puja on your behalf. Ayush or Ayul homam is performed at this holy place daily. This puja should be performed with utmost devotion and sincerity.

Thirukadaiyur Ayush Homam

This homam is performed to seek blessings from Ayurveda, which increases Ayush. Anyone can perform it. Usually, this homam is performed for children, and devotees celebrating Shastiapthapoorthi (60th, 70th, and 80th marriages) frequently participate in this pooja.

Ayush Homam includes Navagraha Homam and Mrityunjaya Homam. One Kalasa for Mrityunjaya Homam and 9 Kalasas for Navagraha Homam will be kept in Pooja. The Pooja typically lasts between 1 hour and 30 minutes and 2 hours. At the end, the water from the Kalasas will be poured on the devotee. The devotees will later change their dress and perform the Ahuthi again. One must use cow ghee for this Homam. Astottaram, Anga Poojai, and Aavarana Poojai will be performed during Mruthyunjaya Homam. Nakshatra Ahuthi and Thithi Ahuthi will be performed during Navagraha Homam. It is said that the devotee will receive an additional five years of life. Good-quality Pooja Samagri will be used.

As per the legend, Lord Shiva blessed Markandeya with a full life. Lord Shiva revived Yama (the god of death) at this place. It is believed that a nectar drop fell on this place.

• Mangala Aarathi will be performed at the end.
