Thirukadaiyur Kalyana Mandapam

Thirukadaiyur Kalyana Mandapam Cost and Booking Procedure

To acquire the Gnana Upadesa (knowledge and learning), Lord Brahma proceeded to Kailash. Brahmma obtained the seeds of the Vilwa tree from Lord Shiva, who instructed him to plant them around the planet. According to Lord Shiva, the location of teaching will be where the seed becomes a tree in less than an hour. Thirukadayur is where it occurred. Shiva, the Brahmanic teacher, is honored in the temple with his shrine as Adhi Vilwa Vana Nather. Without kneeling before Lord Vinayaka, who simply struck the pot, the Devan started to drink the nectar. They pleaded with Vinayaka after realizing their insincerity, and after receiving it from Him, they deposited it in this Thirukadaiyur for Shiva Puja. Opening it showed Shiva Linga. Lord Shiva is known as Amirdha Kadeswarar since he manifested here as a Swayambu Linga from the Amirdha-nectar pot.

Kalyana Mandapam is located outside the temple. Shastiapthapoorthi and marriages are allowed inside these function halls. Bookings are limited.
