Pazhamudircholai Temple History

As per the Legend, Lord Murugan thought of testing Poet Avvaiyar who was relaxing under the tree. Lord in the form of Shepperd sat on the tree and asked the Poet if she wants cooked or uncooked fruits. Avvaiyar didn’t understand what the boy is trying to say. Avvaiyar asked for cooked fruits. The small boy shook the tree and the fruits fell to the ground. Poet has blown air to remove the dust from the fruit. The small boy then asked the poet whether it is cooked now as the fruit is hot. Avvaiyar then realized that the small boy is none other than the Lord who came to test her. Lord Murugan appeared before her at this place.
