Sage Mangalya was born in Uthiam Star. All the power attained from the Yagna resides in his forearm.

It is said that this Sage was the main purohit for Sage Agasthya, Sage Vasishta and Bhairava marriages. It is believed a blessing from this Sage will benefit Newlywed couples with Longevity and Good relationship.

He is head of the Akshada (Rice mixed with Turmeric which is used to bless newly wed couples).

It is believed that Angels worship Mangalayeswarar to re-energize the power of Blessings. It will be more effective on Uthiram Star day.

In the month of Panguni (14Mar – 14Apr), the celestial wedding will be performed for the main deities on Uthiram Star day.

Young Woman born on Uthiram Nakshatra day advised seeking blessings from this deity.

It is common practice that First Wedding Invitation will be placed at the Lord’s holy feet. Post marriage, Newlywed couples visit this temple as note of Thanksgiving.
