Kashi Vishwanath Mandir History

This temple was built at the confluence of the Rivers Ganga, Asi and Varuni. It is a 3000 years old temple. The present structure of this temple was built in 1777 by Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar of Indore. This temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas located in the Indian Sub-continent.

In the year 1839, King Ranjeet Singh donated Gold to cover the Two Gopuras of the temple.
