Alipiri to Tirumala By Walk Timings and Distance

Alipiri Mettu is 3.7 Km from Tirupati Railway station and 4.0 Km from Tirupati Bus station. TTD runs free Buses from Tirupati Railway station, Vishnu Nivasam, Tirupati Bus station and Srinivasam Complex to Alipiri Mettu at regular intervals.

The devotees can leave their Luggage at Luggage Depositing center located at Alipiri Mettu Entrance. Please don’t leave any valuable items in the luggage bag such as Laptops, Glass items, Camera etc.

Divya Darshan tickets will be issued at 100th step. The devotees can avail this facility if they don’t have pre-booked darshan tickets.

Divya Darshan counter located right after Alipiri Gopuram

Alipiri Mettu entrance to Gali Gopuram usually takes 1 hour 15 mins to 1 hours 30 mins as steps are steep. Gali Gopuram is located at 2083th step.

Second level of ticket authentication will be performed after 2850 step. After Gali Gopuram, the journey will be somewhat ok.

Mokala Parvatham steps will be steep and there about 640 steps to Tirumala last step. Mokalla Parvatham steps starts at 2910th step.

Some devotees used to walk with their knees, but it is not mandatory or any rule to perform that. The devotees can take steps path in a normal way.

Now the devotee can proceed to Kalyanakatta to offer hair and bathing. After bathing and collecting room (if required), now you can report at VQC II complex for Darshan. Darshan reporting time is available on the Divya Darshan ticket. The devotee requested to report as mentioned on the ticket.

Divya Darshan ticket Expected Darshan duration (With waiting time)

The darshan duration will be high on festival days and on special months. The devotees can purchase additional laddus at the Laddu Counter. Each Small Laddu cost Rs.50 and Kalyanam Laddu cost Rs.200 each. There is no limit on the laddus purchase. Laddu cover will be charged as well. The devotee requested to keep small change Rs.5, Rs.10 and Rs.20.

The devotees can avail Free Bus in Tirumala, which connects all cottages and Room booking centers in Tirumala. From GNC Tollgate entrance, it usually takes 20 to 25 mins to reach Darshan entry line. Instead, Free bus is available and operated every 3 to 4 mins.

Tirupati Srivari Mettu Timings before COVID

Srivari Mettu opens at 6:00 am and close by 5:00 pm. Most of the devotees prefer this path as it is easy to reach Tirumala. Those who would like to apply Vermilion and Turmeric to the steps and other Prarthana, prefer this path. Daily, 6000 Divya tickets were issued along this path. The devotee can deposit the Luggage in the counter is available at the steps entrance and can collect after reaching Tirumala at MBC.

Water facility and Restrooms are available till 400th step from there it might not be available. Security is available at the steps entrance. Divya Darshan tokens counter is located at 1200th step. Tickets are issued thru bio-metric system and Darshan slot will be printed on it. The devotee must report at VQC II as per the time slot mentioned on the ticket. Children under 12 years don’t need tickets as it is free entry along with their parents.

Usually, Srivari Mettu remains opens for 24 hours on special days such as Annual Garuda Vahana Seva. Tirupati Srivari Mettu opening timings might change on special days such as Garuda Vahana Seva, Vaikunta Ekadasi etc.

Online booking is not available for Divya Darshan tickets. Sometimes, TTD Cancels issuing Divya Darshan tickets along this path due to heavy crowd in Tirumala.

Tirupati Srivari Mettu Timings During COVID

Srivari Mettu was closed for more than 233 days following COVID safety rules. To control the Darshan crowd, TTD stopped issuing Divya Darshan tickets along this path. Only devotees with Darshan tickets are allowed to take steps path to Tirumala.

At present, Srivari Mettu opens at 6:00 am and close by 4:00 pm daily. The security check post at the steps entrance verifies the ticket before allowing the devotee. The devotees can deposit Luggage at the steps entrance and can collect after reaching Tirumala. As Alipiri Mettu is under renovation, majority of the devotees prefers Srivari Mettu to reach Tirumala. The devotee can avail Room at CRO office Tirumala. Rooms are allotted only to the devotees with Darshan tickets.

Tirupati Alipiri Mettu Timings

(Before COVID)

Alipiri Mettu remain open for 24 hours. Daily 14,000 tickets were issued to the devotees who takes this path. It usually, takes 3 to 4 hours to reach Tirumala via this path. Total 9.1 Km in length.

Slotted Divya Darshan tokens were issued along the path. The devotee must report at VQC II on the specified time.

Dress Code: Any decent outfit.

Darshan Duration: It takes, 3 to 12 hours, which depends on the crowd. The crowd will be high during weekends, special days and festival days. At times, Divya Darshan tokens will be stopped due to heavy crowd. Usually, this scenario occurs during Puratasi Month, Brahmotsavam days, Vaikunta Ekadasi, Vaikunta Dwadasi, Rathasapthami etc.

While the devotees are waiting in the queue line for Darshan, Food and water will be supplied by the TTD.

It is advisable to take Alipiri Mettu or Srivari Mettu path with barefoot. As many great saints took this path and these steps are holy.

Divya Darshan is a free ticket, which will be issued at Alipiri Mettu and Srivari Mettu paths in Tirupati and Srinivasa Mangapuram. The devotee can leave the luggage at the footpath entrance and can collect at GNC Tollgate after reaching Tirumala.

In the case of rooms non-availability, the devotees can take rest and get fresh up at Pilgrims Amenities centers available in Tirumala. Luggage can be deposited at Free Lockers available in all PAC’s.

Tonsuring facility is available in all the PACs for the devotees convenience. The devotee can have Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasada Center located near to the main temple.

Children under 12 years doesn’t need a ticket as they are allowed only with their parents or relatives.

The devotees can use free Bus 9(Orange Colored Bus) facility available in Tirumala. These buses connects all cottages and offices in Tirumala. Bus is available every 3 to 5 mins.

Those who are looking for Rooms can stand in Q Line at CRO office for room allotment. CRO office Timings: 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Tirupati Alipiri Mettu Timings During COVID

Divya Darshan tokens were stopped as to restrict crowd. Alipiri Mettu timings 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Srivari Mettu was closed all this time.

The devotees are allowed to go via Alipiri Mettu path if they had pre-booked darshan ticket.

Now, Alipiri Mettu is under renovation and there is a change in the Alipiri Mettu Timings ie 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. And the path is not good for trekking now. It might take some more time for the fully developed steps path.

Those who are planning for Tirupati Darshan, can reach Tirumala either by Bus or Own vehicle.

Srivari Mettu Footpath opens from 6:00 am to 5:30 pm. But this path remains open for 24 hours on special days such as Annual Garuda Seva day, Vaikunta Ekadasi.

It is 2.1 Km long path and takes around 2 hours to 2 hours 30 mins to reach Hilltop.

It is 2388 steps by walk to Tirumala. Restrooms and water facilities are available till 420th step.

It is advisable to carry water bottles and food as eat-outs are not available in this path.

Daily 6000 Divya Darshan tokens will be issued at this path entrance. The second level of verification will be done at 1200th step.

Aadhar Card or any other Valid Photo ID proof required to avail this Darshan ticket.

Srivari Mettu footpath opening timings

6:00 am to 5:30 pm as stated above. Vehicle Entry will be denied from 4:30 pm onwards. The security guard at Srinivasa Mangapuram-Srivari Mettu entry arch will stop the entry.

It might take 2 hours to 3 hours depending on the age factor.

Luggage Depositing Counters at Srivari Mettu

Free Luggage Depositing counter is available at Srivari Mettu entry point. The luggage can later be collected after reaching Tirumala.

Darshan Tickets at Srivari Mettu Path

Tickets are issued from 6:00 am onwards. Those who are not getting Divya Darshan tokens can have Sarva Darshan after reaching Tirumala.

Divya Darshan tickets will not be issued on special days such as Vaikunta Ekadasi, Vaikunta Dwadasi, Annual Garuda Seva day, New year, 31Dec etc.

Those who availed Darshan can have Darshan within 8-12 hours. Tokens are issued for the same day Darshan. Online booking is not available for these free tickets. Tickets are issued using the bio-metric system.

Children under 12 years don’t need Darshan tickets. Photo ID proof is mandatory to have Darshan. The devotee must report at VQC II at the mentioned reporting time. No early reporting required and accepted.

Darshan Tokens will not last for 5-6 hours during weekends and 1-2 hours on special days.

Two wheelers are allowed to Tirumala. Helmet and Driving License mandatory to drive in Tirumala Ghat roads.

Two Wheeler, Car Parking and Tourists bus can be parked at Balaji Link Bus station. Charges applicable for 24 hours.

Please note that the Tourists buses not allowed to Tirumala.

The token will be issued at first security check gate near Alipiri and only devotees with the token will be allowed to take the photo and biometric tickets at Gali gopuram i.e 2083 step. Security check stamp is required for this ticket validity which is put nearNarasimhaa Swamy temple security checkpoint. Devotees should report with the ticket near Vaikuntam 1 queue complex at the given time slot.

Srivari Mettu Vehicle Parking Timings, Parking Fees, Opening and Closing Timings.

Srivari Mettu opens from 6 am till 5:30 pm for the devotees. Divya Darshan tokens will be issued at 1200th Step which is 1.4 km from the entrance. It is 2.1 km from the Entrance to the Hill Top. Srivari Mettu path opens on all in a week.  It is said the Lord Venkateswara himself took this path to reach Tirumala along with Goddess Padmavathi after their marriage. It is advisable to take these steps with barefoot as these hills are holy.

Vehicle parking for four wheeler and two wheeler is available at the entrance. Four and Two Wheelers can be parked here and can be collected next day. Security staff will be monitoring the premises so vehicles are safe.

Srivari Mettu path closes by 5:30 pm so it may not be possible to collect vehicle on the same day as path closes on the both sides ie. from Srivari Mettu to Tirumala and Tirumala to Srivari Mettu. Usually, Auto rickshaws and Buses runs till 5:00 pm -6:00 pm to the entrance so transportation may not be available after 6 pm.

If you are planning for Darshan on a weekday then you can easily collect the vehicle by trekking down the hills thru Srivari Mettu.

It is 6 km from Srivari Mettu to Srinivasa Mangapuram and 11 km from Srinivasa Mangapuram to Tirupati.

Vehicles can be parked here at free of cost. No parking fees for Four wheelers and Two Wheelers.

Luggage can be safely deposited here for transportation. It takes 3 hours for the delivery vehicle to reach Tirumala. Direct buses are available from Railway station, Bus station, Srinivasam complex, Vishnu Nivasam cottages to Srivari Mettu Entrance. APSRTC operates buses regularly with 30-40 mins frequency.
