This puja is performed to appease ancestors. Ancestors bless their clan with good fortune. Any deviation in performing their rituals will anger them. Untimely rituals might cause Pitru Dosha. Pitru Dosha can be identified in the Kundali. The dosha severity will vary from person to person. For some people, the dosha severity will be less, and a simple Thila Homam will remove it. A paripoorna Pitru Dosha can be removed with 10,008, 25,000, or 100,000 counts. The puja duration depends on the Japa Sankhya. Typically, five to twelve pandits will be performing rituals.
We offer online puja services for those who are unable to attend. A reservation is advisable, as Gokarna is a Kshetra and a tourist place. You can perform this puja on any day. An elder from the family should perform this puja. One from a family can perform this puja to remove Pitru Shaap. At Gokarna, we speak Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and English. The puja will be performed in your native language. It is advisable to fast while performing this puja. One should take a head bath before and after the puja.

Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and shirt or kurta and pajama.
- Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
- Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
