It is said that performing Pitru Dosha Nivarana Puja during Pitru Paksha month in Gokarna will yield the best results. Pitru Paksha is sixteen days, and anything offered to ancestors during this time will benefit the whole family. During this time at Gokarna, Moksha Narayana Bali Puja for the departed souls and Thila Homam for Pitru Dosha Nivarana Puja will be performed. Mahalaya Amavasya Pitru Paksha Puja in Gokarna
Pitru Paksha begins on Shraddh Purnima and ends on Amavasya. Moksha Narayana Bali Puja is performed if there is any unnatural death. Thila Homam is performed for Pitru Dosha Nivarana. Puja Instructions To Devotees
- One should refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food for three days before the puja.
- A woman cannot perform this puja.
- A husband cannot perform this puja if his wife is pregnant.
- If there is any death in the family, then this puja can be performed after six months.
- One family member can perform this puja for the entire family.
- A Brahman can perform this puja on your behalf.
