Naga Pratishta for Childbirth in Rameswaram is performed on all days. Ashlesha Star Day, Kiruthika Star Day, and Naga Panchami are highly preferred for the pooja. The puja duration is 5 to 6 hours and is performed outside the main temple. One should take a headbath at Agni Theertham (if possible) before performing this puja. Naga Pratishta can be performed in a day or two. Usually, all required homam will be performed on the first day, and Pratishta on the next day. The idol will be immersed in the water for the whole night. It is advisable to plan your stay for two days to complete the puja procedure.

- The husband cannot perform this pooja or join with anyone if his wife is pregnant.
- One should not perform this pooja for 11 months if anyone has deceased in the family.
