Please wear
Men: White Pancha, Dhoti/Kurta, Pyjama.
Female: Saree with a blouse; Punjabi Dress with Dupatta; Chudidhar with dupatta; Half saree

For unmarried females, Priest will be performing rituals on her behalf.

Thila Homam Rameswaram Procedure

  1. Thila Homam will be performed to get rid of Pitru Dosha.
  2. This Dosha will be there if the person is not performing Tharpanam regularly to their ancestors.
  3. The person who wants to perform Pooja should reach Rameswaram a day in advance.
  4. Next day, take a holy dip in Agni Theertham.
  5. After changing dress, proceed to the temple for the main deity Darshan.
  6. Thila Homam will be performed in a private Mantap which is an outside temple.
  7. Thila Tharpanam can be performed with Thila Homam as well.
  8. After Homam, one must leave the dress and have to take a head bath again.
  9. Pre-booking is required for this Homam and this Homam will only be performed on special days.

    My father passed away on 4th January in a road accident. Our astrologer has recommended to do thila homam. Since my wife is pregnant we are postponing it. We have to do this homam immediately after delivery or after his first death anniversary? Should we perform 1st anniversary thithi @rameshwaram along with thila homam or both can be done separately? As of now we are planning thila homam at Rameshwaram by dec 31st after his first death anniversary thithi @home which comes on 25th December 2018.
