Kashi Vishwanath Temple
One of the 12 Jyotirlingas across India. Temple is located on the Banks of Ganga. Varanasi was built at the confluence of the Rivers Varuna and Assi. This temple is of 3000 years old. The present form of the temple was built by the ardent devotee Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar of Indore in the year 1777. In the year 1839, Maharaja Ranjeet Singh donated gold to cover the two Gopuras of the temple. Ghats were built during the 18th century.
Annapurna Devi Temple
As per the Legend, Goddess Parvati made a Kitchen in the holy city Varanasi and prepared food for all. Goddess Parvati offered food to Lord Siva who realised that food is not Maya.
Kalabhairav Temple
Kalabhairav relieved from Brahmahatya Dosh on reaching Varanasi. Hence he stayed at Varanasi from then on.
Mritunjay Mahadev Temple
It is believed that water in the well possesses medicinal properties. It is said that Dhanvantri (Father of Ayurveda) poured the herbs in this well. Mritunjay Jaap will be performed to get rid of unnatural death.
Tulsi Manas Mandir
Temple is dedicated to Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman. It is said that Goswami Tulsi Das wrote Ramacharita Manas at this place. Hence the temple named after Tulsi Das. Scenes from Ramacharita Manas is depicted on the Temple walls.
Sankatmochan Temple
Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is believed that worshipping Lord Hanuman will reduce the malefic effects of Shani and Angarak Dosh.
Durga Temple
This temple was built in the 18th Century. Temple tank is Durgakund and a holy dip in this Tirtha will relieve the sin.
Bharat Mata Temple
This temple was inaugurated by Gandhi Ji in the year 1936.
