Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Ugra Ratha Shanti is performed at Thirukadaiyur to pacify Lord Shiva. This puja is performed on all days. The puja duration is 5 to 6 hours. As per the folklore, Lord Shiva blessed his ardent devotee Markandeya at this temple. It is the place where Lord Shiva revived Yama (God of death). Another legend associated with this temple is that Lord Ganesha hid the Nectar pot (Amrit Kalash) at this place.

Ugra Ratha Shanti Procedure in Thirukadaiyur

According to the Hindu calendar, the homam should be performed on the same day of birth, in the same month, and in the same year. If it can’t be done on the same day, this Homam should be done on a lucky day before the 59th year ends.
