Thirunageswaram Temple Marriage Procedure, Hall Cost, and Booking Details

The temple allows marriages during its opening hours. Tying knots is allowed in the temple. Outside the temple, decorations and catering services are permissible.

Thirunageswaram Temple Marriage Procedure

  1. The bride and the bride’s family should necessarily be Hindus.
  2. The Bride must be 18 years and above
  3. The groom and the groom’s family should necessarily be Hindus.
  4. The Groom should be 21 years and above
  5. Only Hindu arranged marriages are allowed at this temple.
  6. The temple permits inter-caste Hindu arranged marriages.
  7. A marriage Application has to be collected from the temple office by the Bride’s and Groom’s families
  8. Any of the listed individuals can collect the form, i.e., the bride, the groom, the bride’s parents, or the groom’s parents.
  9. The only payment required at the time of application submission is the marriage registration fee.
  10. Interreligious marriages are not allowed in the temple.
  11. Love marriages without parents’ acceptance are not allowed.
  12. Decoration and catering services can be performed outside the temple.
  13. A minimum of 1 to 2 months of booking is advisable.

Required ID proofs for a same-caste arranged marriage

  1. The Bride and Groom’s Aadhar Cards photocopies
  2. Photocopies of the bride’s and groom’s Aadhar cards are required.
  3. Bride and Groom’s Community Certificate and Transfer Certificate photocopies
  4. A signed application form by the Thasildhar/MRO or online unmarried certificates from the bride and groom are required.

Thirunageswaram Temple Inter-caste Marriage Procedure

  1. The Bride and Groom’s Aadhar Cards photocopies
  2. Photocopies of the bride’s and groom’s Aadhar cards are required.
  3. Bride and Groom’s Community Certificate and Transfer Certificate photocopies
  4. A signed application form by the Thasildhar/MRO or online unmarried certificates from the bride and groom are required.
  5. A separate NOC from the local police stations is required from the bride and groom.
  6. A notary document confirming the parents’ acceptance of the marriage is required.

Marriage Registration Certificate Procedure

  1. Temple will be issuing the marriage certificate, which can be used for the marriage registration
  2. Tamil Nadu residents can register online.
  3. Wedding Invitation card
  4. Marriage photos
  5. Bride and Groom’s Aadhar Cards photocopies
