Pooja’s cost remains the same as the Shastiaptha Poorthi Homam. The Homam date will be calculated on the birth star (it is not the birth date as per the English calendar). Even singles or unmarried individuals can perform this puja. An astrologer can let you know the auspicious day for this puja. At Thirukadaiyur, Oru-Kalam and Rendu-Kalam pujas are performed daily. Oru-Kalam means one-day puja, whereas Rendu-Kalam means two-day puja. One should perform this puja with utmost devotion and sincerity. One should take a head bath before the puja. It is advisable to carry an extra set of clothes, as Avabrutha Snanam will be performed in the end. The Rendu-Kalam puja will be performed in the evening hours on the first day and in the morning hours on the second day.

Thirukadaiyur Bheema Ratha Shanthi Procedure

This pooja will be performed for individuals 70 years of age. The birth star will be counted at this time. Interested persons can directly perform Bheema Ratha Shanthi without performing Shasthiapthapoorthi. The ritual process is the same with Shasitapthapoorthi and Bheema Ratha Shanti. This Homam is performed to seek blessings from Ayur Devatha. It is believed that performing this Homam will increase lifespan. This Homam includes Ganapathi Pooja, Ayush Homam, Mrutyunjaya Homam, and Navagraha Homam. The Kalasas, which are kept during the Homam, will be poured on the couple at the end. At this temple, this puja is performed daily. Usually, family members will organize this ritual as a token of gratitude. The couple would have completed their responsibilities, and they have to spend time on self-realization.
