Ranamandala Anjaneya Swamy Temple

Ranamandala Anjaneya Swamy Temple located in Adoni, Kurnool. It is 600 steps to reach the hilltop. Temple is always open as there are no gates. Santhana Anjaneya Swamy Temple is located in the midway of the hilltop.

Ranamandala Anjaneya Swamy Temple Legends

It is believed that this is the place where Anjaneya Swamy killed demons in a war who are trying to disturb Lord Sree Rama’s sleep. Hence this place got the name Rana Mandala, where Rana means war and mandala means region.

It is believed that Anjaneya Swamy self-manifested here. Sri Vyasaraja did visit this place during his journey but this Idol was not installed by him. Anjaneya Swamy once appeared in the dreams of a devotee and instructed him that temple should be built in a day only. Devotee tried to build the temple with the help of others but could not finish within time and left the materials as it is. That is the reason why this temple doesn’t have any roof and is in the open air.
