ANKURARPANAM PERFORMED INSIDE TEMPLE IN CONNECTION WITH ANNUAL PUSHPAYAGAM

Grandeur marked the `Ankurarpanam’ festival that was being observed in connection Annual PUSHPAYAGAM at Tirumala on Thursday evening. Processional deity of Lord Senadhipathi varu is taken around four mada streets in Tirumala.

The priests collected the ‘Putta mannu’ (sacred earth) required for Yagasala inside the temple. After the completion of certain religious formalities, the ‘nava dhanyams’ were ceremoniously sown in the earthen pots inside the Yagasala for germination — marking the commencement of the spiritual fiesta.

PushpaYagam is the annual fete in the temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala which is usually performed soon after the completion of annual brahmotsavams during Karthika maasam as per Hindu calendar.

Nearly seven tones of flowers, including lilies, roses, chrysanthemum, mogali etc. will be used to render floral tributes to the deities they were immersed in neck depth in the sea of flower bed.
