Kanappa Dora used to go for hunting on every Saturday while going around the forest, he noticed a monitor lizard glowing and in a different colour so ordered his staff to catch the monitor lizard. Soldiers after repeated trials were not able to catch the lizard, the lizard then entered anthill called as Komali. Soldiers were not able to find the lizard even after digging the anthill and they all returned to their kingdom.
On the same night, Lord appeared in the dreams of the King and revealed that it is Him who appeared as a monitor lizard and entered the anthill. On knowing this, King along with Vedic Pundits offered prayers to the God residing in the anthill.
