Jaigarh Fort History, Timings, Route Info, Entry fees
This fort was built during the reign of Sawai Jai Singh in 1726 AD using red stones. Largest Canon in Asia is kept for the display in this fort, it was manufactured in 1720 AD. This cannon was called by Jaivana Cannon. Jiavana was never used in the war. This fort was the centre of artillery production for the Rajputs. This cannon was tested once with 100 Kg gunpowder. This fort was built in the Aravalli hill range. This fort was called by Cheel Ka Teela or Hills of Eagles. There is a passage in the fort which connects Amer fort.
This fort architecture reflects Hindu and Mughal construction style. This fort was designed by the architect Vidhyadar.
