Overwhelmed with joy over what he regarded as a divine dispensation, he took the baby name, named her Godadevi and brought her up. The Lyrics she had sung extempore out of her devotion to Ranganatha are today Known as ‘Tiruppavai’

SriRanganatha Srirangam and Sri Venkateswara Tirumala Interconnected

Sriranganatha of Srirangam and Sri Venkateswara of Tirumala are one and the same – Lord Maha Vishnu.

When muslim rulers invaded the Southern states, the Srirangam Temple was shut and the processional dieities and Valuable ornaments of the Lord had been shifted to Tirumala for Safe Custody. Thus Sriranganatha  happened to be in Tirumala Temple for a number of years. When the invasion threat abated, the dieties and ornaments were taken back to Srirangam. That is why the place SriRanganatha Occupied during his Sojourn in Tirumala is even today known as Ranga Mandapam.

To the extent we know, at least for a century, Vastram (A piece of Cloth ) and garlands are sent in the name of Godadevi from Srivalliputtur Temple to Lord Venkateswara’s Brahmotsavam’s .

In return a silk Saree  and a Prasadam goes as a gift from Lord Srinivasa of Tirumala to  Godadevi of Srivalliputtur in Tamil Nadu. It is presented with Temple Honors on the occasion of Godadevi’s ‘Kalyanotsavam’.
