Ghati Subramanya Temple
Ghati Subramanya Temple is known for Naga Kshetra. Devotees offer prayers to Lord Subramanya and pour milk in the anthill located right opposite to the temple. Temple is known for Naga Pratistha, Kuja (Mars) Dosha Nivarana Pooja, Sarpa Dosha Nivarana Poojas.
Ghati Subramanya Temple Legends
As per the Legends, Ghati is the place where Lord Subramanya performed a strict penance in the guise of a serpent. He did penance on these hill ranges before battling with the demon Tharakasura. It is the same place where Lord Subramanya prayed Lord Narasimha Swamy to offer protection for the Naga’s family from the mighty Garuda. Garuda the divine vehicle of Lord Vishnu is known for his enmity towards Serpent family.
Lord Narasimha Swamy and Lord Subramanya Swamy self-manifested here on a single idol. Where Lord Narasimha facing West and Lord Subramanya facing east in a seven hooded serpent form. A mirror is placed little above to reflect the image of Lord Narasimha.
The word Ghati was derived from Sanskrit, which means pot. A serpent’s hood resembles that of a pot and it is the place where the Lord lived in the form of a Seven hooded Sanke. It is believed that this is the place where Lord Subramanya killed the demon Ghatikasura.
Ghati Subramanya Temple History
As per the temple records, temple has a history more than 600 years. This temple was built by Ghorpade from Sandur dynasty. It is believed that Lord appeared in the dreams of the King and revealed his whereabouts. King with the help of staff and villagers uncovered the self-manifested idol.

Ghati Subramanya Temple Abhishekam will be performed daily between 8:30 am – 9 :00 am. Advance booking not available. It is on arrival ticket purchase over the counter. Plan to be there an hour in advance.
Temple Administration is performing Free Annadhanam daily for the lunch.
