This Zoo stretches over an area of 67.56 Acre and is located at an altitude of 7000 ft. This Zoo was established in 14Aug 1958. The Then prime minister Indira Gandhi renamed Himalayan Zoo to Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoo, Former Governor of West Bengal 0n 21Nov 1975. This Zoo Park houses the breeding centre for the endangered species Siberian Tiger, Himalayan Wolf and Snow Leopard. Red Panda majorly attracts tourists.

How to reach Darjeeling Zoo?
- 30 mins walk from Mall Road to Jawahar Road as Vehicles are not allowed. Taxi or Jeep can be hired from Chowrasta to Mall Road.
- 5 mins Uphill walk from Lebong Cart Road to the Zoo. Vehicles can be parked here on the roadside at Lebong Cart.
