Daksha Mahadev Temple History
As per the folklore, Sati, Daughter of Daksha Prajapati married Lord Siva against her father’s wish. Daksha thought of insulting his Son-In-Law by conducting Yagna. Daksha invited all Devas excluding Lord Siva and His Ganas. Sati who came to know about this Yagna reached her paternal to advise her father. Daksha insulted Sati before the guests. Angered Sati self-immolated herself in the Yoga Agni. Angered Lord Siva ordered Veerabhadra to destroy Yagna and Kill Daksha. Veerabhadra along with Kali and Siva Ganas destroyed the Yagna and beheaded Daksha’s. It is the place where Daksha performed the Yagna. This temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. This temple was built in 11th century AD.
