Shastipoorthi can be performed on the year, month, and day that a person turns 60. If this isn’t possible, then an auspicious day is chosen based on the person’s birth chart that falls in the year before they turn sixty. Most of the time, Shastipoorthi takes place when the 60th year ends and the 61st year begins.

Ugraratha Shanti Pooja will be performed during Shastipoorthi. 1st-day Kalasasthapana, 2nd-day Ugraratha Shanti, Ayush Homam, and Avabrutha Sananam will be performed on the 3rd day. It is said that a human can live up to 120 years. After the completion of the first half of life, this pooja will be performed for good health and well-being.
