Pratyangira Devi Homam in Rameswaram is performed daily. The puja lasts for about 3 hours. Two priests will perform this ritual. Pratyangira Devi Homam is one of the most powerful and beloved Vedic rituals to invoke the fierce, protective spirit of Goddess Pratyangira, an incarnation of Divine Shakti with a human body and a human body and lion’s face. This homam protects devotees and removes big obstacles, evil eyes, black magic, and evil energies. If you are looking for a solution to recurring problems, legal battles, and enemies in disguise, performing or participating in a Pratyangira Devi Homam will give you spiritual protection and peace of mind.
Goddess Pratyangira Devi is also known as Narasimhika or Aparajita. She is the manifestation of the combined might of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, and Goddess Durga. According to sacred Hindu scriptures, after Lord Narasimha killed the demon Hiranyakashipu, his furious anger did not subside and threatened the whole universe. To ease his anger, Lord Shiva took the form of the mythical bird-animal Sarabheswara. From the third eye of Sarabheswara, Goddess Pratyangira was born. Her tremendous neutralizing power restored peace and harmony to the universe. Outside the Rameswaram temple, in a yagashala, this puja is performed.
