Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings Shastipoorthi Pooja in Hyderabad is performed daily. The puja duration is four to five hours. One should perform this puja with utmost devotion and sincerity. One should take a head bath before the puja. This puja should be performed based on the Birth Lagna and Janma Nakshatra. One shouldn’t choose an English calendar date for this puja. Shastipoorthi Pooja is a celebration to mark the completion of one’s duties and responsibilities. When the husband enters his 61st year, then this puja should be performed.
The word Shasti means sixty, and poorthi means completion. This puja should be performed after completing 60 years. The puja duration varies with the Kalasas count. The more the Kalasas, the longer the puja duration. Shastipoorthi can be performed in a day or two. For a two-day pooja, it is 108 or 120 Kalasas. In a one-day pooja, it is either 11 or 60 Kalasas. Typically, five to seven Brahmans will be performing the puja. An astrologer can let you know the puja dates based on your birth star.
Puja Instructions
- It is advisable to carry an extra set of clothes for this puja, as Avabrutha Snanam will be performed in the end.
- One should wear traditional wear for this puja.
- One should stop consuming non-vegetarian food and alcohol three days before the puja.
- One should take a head bath before the puja.
- This puja should be performed by the couple.
- Mangalya Dharana is optional during this puja.

- Gents: dhoti (white) and shirt or kurta and pajama.
- Ladies: saree or salwar kameez.
- Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.
Shastipoorthi Pooja Procedure in Hyderabad
Shastipoorthi Puja is performed in a Mandapam. This puja starts in the early hours at 7:00 a.m. Temple priests will be performing this ritual. The puja cost includes puja articles, five Brahmans, and mandapam charges. We can provide the online puja services for those who cannot attend this puja. We courier the puja prasadam to their house address. Advance intimation is required, as only one mandapam is available in the temple premises. Shastipoorthi Pooja might take seven to eight hours, which depends on the Kalasas established for the puja.
As couples are not comfortable with the long-hour poojas, we have added more Brahmans to shorten the duration. It can even be reduced to 2 hours, 30 minutes, if 10 Brahmans perform the ritual. Typically, 120 Kalasas will be set up for a complete Shastipoorthi, which takes two to three days for the puja. It is believed that this puja increases lifespan by five more years.
