Our Sanskriti & Gyan Temples Pooja, Darshan, and Timings The 70th marriage in Kancheepuram is performed daily. The 70th marriage, or Bhima Ratha Shanti, is performed on your birth star day. Even an unmarried person can perform this puja. Bhima Ratha Shanti is performed to appease Lord Shiva. Usually, this puja will be organized by the couple’s children and relatives. The puja duration depends on the number of Kalasas. We set up 9, 16, 32, and 64 Kalasas for the puja. Typically, two to three priests will be performing this puja. This puja is performed in the temple premises. We provide all the required articles for the puja. Thirumangalyam will be performed at the end.
It is advisable to perform this puja in the 70th year. This puja removes Mrityudosha for the couple. It blesses the couple with good fortune. 70 Kalasas, which represent 70 years, can be set up for Bhimaratha Shanti. The couple will be blessed with mental peace. Puja Dress Code
- Gents: dhoti (white) and upper cloth.
- Ladies: saree.
- Regardless of age group, we kindly request that all devotees refrain from wearing clothing such as T-shirts and jeans.
Instructions to be followed
- Women can participate in this puja after the fifth day of their menstrual cycle.
- If there is any death in the family, one should perform the puja after 3 months.
- One should stop consuming non-veg and alcohol for another 11 days after the puja.
- Three days before the puja, one should abstain from alcohol and non-vegetarian foods.
70th Marriage Procedure in Kancheepuram
We offer online puja services for those who are unable to attend. The puja will be livestreamed through the video call. We courier the puja prasadam to your house address. The couple should bring a new set of clothes and two sets of garlands. Thirumanglayam will be performed based on your interest. Prokshana, or Avabrutham, will be performed at the end. A proper seating arrangement will be made for the elderly couple. 30 to 40 members can attend this puja. We perform this puja individually.
