Viswakarma built the temple for the deity at Yamunachala on Lord Brahma’s order. Lord Brahma decided to create Holy Tirtha’s at this temple and invited Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati, who obeyed the command. Various other Tirtha’s from the Himalayas, Vindhyas, Sahayadris, Trikut and Malay mountains flocked together. There was a tumultuous assemblage of all these and on account of the furore created by them Brahma named it ‘Kallola Tirth’.
