Tuljapur temple Tirth

Kallola Tirth

Viswakarma built the temple for the deity at Yamunachala on Lord Brahma’s order. Lord Brahma decided to create Holy Tirtha’s at this temple and invited Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati, who obeyed the command. Various other Tirtha’s from the Himalayas, Vindhyas, Sahayadris, Trikut and Malay mountains flocked together. There was a tumultuous assemblage of all these and on account of the furore created by them Brahma named it ‘Kallola Tirth’. It is believed that taking a holy dip in this Tirth will be relieved from sins. One must take a bath in this Tirtha before entering the temple. As per Tulaja Mahatyam, the devotee will also be relieved from various diseases on taking a holy dip.

Gomukh Tirth

A stream of water constantly falling down some 6 ft from the Gomukh (A stone image of cow’s head). This flow of water comes from the Mankavati Tirth. Locals believe that this water is from River Ganga.
