Trimbakeshwar Narayan Nagbali Puja Cost, Benefits, and Puja Procedure

No. of Days for the Puja: 3 days (Moksha Narayan Bali and Naga Bali Puja)

Dress code: Men to wear Dhoti and Women to wear Saree (Preferably not Black and Green colors)

Puja Location: Ahilya Godavari Sangam and Sati Maha-Smashan, near Trimbakeshwar Temple.

Puja Cost: It depends on the Puja Samagri, priest charges, and food charges.

Please be aware that anyone whose father is still alive can perform this puja, as it also includes Pindadan.

When should I perform Moksha Narayan Bali Puja?

This Puja has to be performed if there is any unnatural death before the age of 55 due to Pancha Bootha (Air, Water, Fire, Space, and Earth).

  1. Drowned in water
  2. Death due to an Earthquake
  3. Met with a fire accident
  4. Death due to ill health
  5. Falling from the sky or a building
  6. Any death before marriage
  7. Suicide attempt
  8. Murder/Accident
  9. Fall off the hill

When should I perform Nag Bali Pooja?

Knowingly or unknowingly killing a snake causes sarpa dosha. In this puja, the last rites will be performed for the serpent idol made out of wheat flour.

Trimbakeshwar Narayan Nagbali Puja Procedure

Puja Procedure on Day 1

  1. As mentioned in the Shastra, a male can only perform this puja. A Brahman can perform the puja on behalf of a female.
  2. Take a holy dip in Kushavarta Kund and wear a traditional outfit.
  3. Preferred dress code: dhoti for men and saree for women. (Black and green-colored dresses are not preferred.)
  4. After Trimbakeshwar Darshan, reach Ahilya Godavari Sangam to perform the Narayan Nagbali puja.
  5. The golden idols of Lord Vishnu and Yama will be placed in two bowls.
  6. Pandit Ji performs the Sankalpa, followed by Kalash Sthapana.
  7. Invoking Lord Surya, Ganesha, and Vishnu through Mantra chanting
  8. Performing puja for Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, Lord Mahesh, Yama, and Tatpurusha.
  9. Agni Sthapana for Havan
  10. Purushsukta havan
  11. Ekadashi Vishnu shraddha
  12. Panchdevta Shraddha Balidan
  13. Palashvidhi,
  14. Offering 10 pindas with honey, ghee, and sesame seeds on the darbhas.
  15. Sandalwood paste will be applied to the pindas and left in a river.

Day 2 Puja Procedure

  • Take a holy dip in Kushavarta Kunda and change into a wet dress.
  • Perform Sapindh Shradha
  • Offer prayers to Lord Shri Vishnu.
  • Dakshina to Brahmin in odd numbers
  • Offer four pindas to Lord Shrivishnu, Brahma, Shiva, and Yama.
  • Offer the fifth pinda to the body in the form of Shri Vishnu.
  • New clothes, cows, gold, etc., have to be offered to a Brahman.

Day 3 Puja Procedure

  1. Offering prayers to Lord Ganesha
  2. Offering prayers to the Golden Snake Idol and offering it to a Brahman.
  3. Annadan at the Brahmin’s place marks the Puja completion
